David R. Heffner, 83, formerly of Pottsville, died Wednesday October 27, 2021, at LVHN- Schuylkill – East, Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville, July 8, 1938, He was a son of the late Howard H. and Hazel (Jones) Heffner.
David served in the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He worked as a laborer in shipping yards before retiring from JDM where he worked in the mail room.
He was preceded in death by former wife Margaret Carl; step-son Michael Zelinsky.
Surviving are 3 step-daughters Rosann Markish of Frackville; Susan Haney of St. Clair; Theresa Smerlick of Port Carbon; step-son Luke Zelinsky of Pottsville; 2 sister Judith Towne and Beverly Shollenberger.Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street St. Clair. Friends may call from 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
