David P. Lutzkanin Sr. , 79, of St. Clair, passed away Saturday February
7, 2026 surrounded by his family at Tremont Nursing and Rehab. Born in St. Clair, August 20, 1946, He was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Cherkis) Lutzkanin. He was a 1964 graduate of St. Clair High School. David served in the US Air Force during VietNam. He was a Machinist at Hetran Corp, Orwigsburg. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Paltanavage) Lutzkanin in 2025, brother Joseph Lutzkanin; and sisters Shirley Palko and Mary Daubert. Surviving are son David P. Lutzkanin Jr. and wife Elaine Nichols of Rome, PA; daughter Nicole Pechart and her husband Jason of Dalmatia, PA; brother John Lutzkanin of Pottsville; grandchildren Kalina and Kalea Pechart and Eryn and Jace Nichols; also Nieces and Nephews. Dave thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and bird watching. He treasured his cabin in Tioga County and loved spending weekends and holidays there with family. Dave was an avid trap shooter, both recreationally and competitively, participating in numerous leagues. In his younger years, he was active with youth sports in St Clair. He was a little league coach, as well as a midget football coach. Dave was a life long member of St Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, serving as caretaker for numerous years. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM Friday March 6, 2026 from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 N. Second St. St. Clair, PA 17970. Rev. Bohgan Vasyliv will be officiating. Friends may call from 9:00-10:00AM at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary 1700 Hawk Mountain Rd. Kempton, PA 19529.
