Esther Verchick

Esther D. Verchick, 98, of St. Clair, died Monday March 9, 2026, at LVHN - Schuylkill – East, Pottsville.

Born in McAdoo, January 13, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Margaret (Swank) Reading.

She graduated from St. Clair High School Class of 1945 and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, St. Clair.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband John in 2004; sister Norma Mihalsky; brother Warren Reading.

Surviving are a son John Verchick of St. Clair; daughter Sharon Sborz of St. Clair; grandson Kevin Sborz Jr.; Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 16, 2026 from First Presbyterian Church, 120 N. Mill St. St. Clair. The Rev. Robert L. Schaeffer will be officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Monday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund at the above address. Burial will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
